A Place for Honey Lovers
This crazy idea to have a website featuring honey exclusively made in Southern Oregon came about over an undisclosed amount of adult beverages consumed by hot and tired beekeepers waxing philosophical about how there must be an easier way to get the beautiful golden treasure from our honeybees into the hands of astute honey lovers.
We won't bore you with ALL the details in the work that goes into beekeeping and the work it takes to pull honey supers off honeybee colonies, uncap those supers, spin those frames, filter the delicious product, decide which bottles to pour the honey into, and the dreaded label laws. Do you we meet direct farm sales or not? Does the apiary location go on those labels? How do we distinguish honey harvested from different locations? Yes, that discussion created more questions than answers. It also planted seeds of a dream.
What you see on this website is the rough draft of answering these questions, the waxing of the foundation of an idea. The egg laid in the fertile hive of dreams. You'll probably come across glitches and typos, which we ask for you to extend grace because building websites, writing content, and the uploading photos is so different than keeping bees and harvesting honey.
If you're a beekeeper and your apiary is located in Southern Oregon (map of the area we serve coming soon), no matter the size of your operation, if you want to offer your honey on this website, we are excited to work with you to "advertise" the honey your honeybees made. Check out the Services Page for Beekeepers to learn how to put your honey on the MENU.
If you are a honey lover - WELCOME! You can trust that all the honey listed on the MENU comes from an apiary in Southern Oregon, from real beekeepers who have a passion for beekeeping and producing top quality honey. Beekeepers who have honey listed on this website go through a vetting process to ensure you are buying unadulterated, raw, slightly filtered, 100% real honey made by our beloved honeybees.
It's our dream to soon offer honey tasting parties where we bring a variety of honey for a group of friends to taste test. To learn more about our portable honey taste testing parties, click on BOOK A TASTING.
